Past simple - grammar lesson 7

Level: Pre-intermediate / A2


Lost, alone and injured on a mountain

Complete this text using the past simple form of these verbs:

Gary Smith yesterday 1   celebrated     his twentieth birthday, but he’s lucky to be alive. In March this year he was climbing Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, when he 2                               his way and 3                          sixteen hours in sub-zero temperatures.

On the first night the weather was so bad that it tore his new mountain tent to pieces. So he moved to a Youth Hostel.
